ISEVEN and ISODD Functions
- ISEVEN Functions returns TRUE if the number evaluated is even
- Syntax: =ISEVEN(number)
- ISODD Functions returns TRUE if the number evaluated is odd
- Syntax: =ISODD(number)
Sample Data
In the caption below, we have a simple dataset to conditionally format based on Unit Sold which are even and odd numbers respectively
Conditional Formatting: ISEVEN Function
To apply conditional formatting:
- Select the entire dataset excluding the headings in row 1
- In the Styles group of the Home tab, click on Conditional Formatting
- Select New Rule
- Select Choose a formula to determine which cells to format
- Execute the formula: =iseven($F2)
- Click on Format
- In the Fill tab, apply Bold Italic and Red Color as seen below
- Click OK twice
From the caption above, we can see that all rows with Unit Sold that are even is now conditionally formatted based on the specified
Conditional Formatting: ISODD Function
- Select the entire dataset excluding the headings in row 1
- In the Styles group of the Home tab, click on Conditional Formatting
- Select New Rule
- Select Choose a formula to determine which cells to format
- Execute the formula: =isodd($F2)
- Click on Format
- In the Fill tab, apply Bold Italic and Light Green Color as seen below
- Click OK twice
From the caption above, we can see that all rows with Unit Sold that are even is now conditionally formatted based on the specified.
